We are asking volunteers to bring their favorite Betty Crocker side dishes! We also need a few hands to setup for the party, register for either here.

1960s Dishes

The 1960s had some amazing dishes we'd love for people to bring, dishes such as:

  • Beef Stroganoff — Tender sirloin strips with mushrooms and onions in a rich sour cream sauce served over egg noodles, first appearing in the Betty Crocker cookbook in 1961 and becoming THE signature dinner party dish of the decade.

  • Tuna Noodle Casserole —The iconic comfort food combining canned tuna, egg noodles, and cream of mushroom soup topped with crushed potato chips or cheese, representing the pinnacle of 1960s convenience cooking.

  • Chicken Tetrazzini — An elegant casserole of spaghetti with chicken, mushrooms, and a sherry-laced cream sauce topped with Parmesan cheese, sophisticated enough for company dinners.

  • Noodles Romanoff — A creamy, indulgent noodle side dish made with sour cream, cottage cheese, and cheddar that became so beloved families made it for decades.

  • Chicken à la King — Creamy diced chicken with pimientos and mushrooms served in patty shells or over toast points, a classic for ladies' luncheons.

  • Savory Meatloaf — The definitive herb-flecked ground beef loaf with ketchup glaze that became a required family dinner for generations of home cooks.

  • Lime Jello Salad with Cottage Cheese — A festive green mold made with cottage cheese, crushed pineapple, and chopped walnuts that appeared at every holiday table.

  • Crown Jewel Dessert — A show-stopping creation featuring colorful cubes of different Jell-O flavors suspended in sweetened whipped cream.

  • Perfection Salad — Shredded cabbage and chopped vegetables suspended in lemon or lime gelatin, designed to keep vegetables fresh-looking for days.

  • Cranberry Gelatin Mold — A Thanksgiving and Christmas essential combining cranberry sauce with orange-flavored gelatin and chopped nuts.
